OSCAR is a wellness companion for the home. It shows you your own readings and how they are changing over time. It is not a doctor, not a medical device, and not an emergency service.
What OSCAR Is, and Is Not
- A general wellness product. OSCAR displays readings from devices you choose to connect and describes changes compared with your own history.
- Not medical advice. OSCAR does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it never tells you a reading is normal or abnormal. Talk with your doctor about your health.
- Not an emergency service. OSCAR does not call for help. In an emergency, call 911.
- Only as good as its devices. Readings come from third-party devices. If a reading looks wrong, measure again or check with a clinician.
Your Data
How OSCAR handles your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: your health data stays in your home, encrypted, under your control, and we never sell it.
Connected Services
You may choose to connect OSCAR to outside services, such as a calendar, a sleep-therapy account, or a doorbell. When you do:
- OSCAR asks only for the access it needs, and read-only access wherever the service allows it. For example, OSCAR can read a calendar you share with it but cannot change, delete, or send anything from it.
- What OSCAR reads is kept in your home, the same as your other OSCAR data.
- You can disconnect any service at any time, from OSCAR or from that service's own account settings.
- Each outside service has its own terms and privacy policy, and they apply to your use of it.
Using OSCAR
- Use OSCAR for yourself, your household, and people who have agreed to be part of it.
- Do not use OSCAR to monitor anyone without their knowledge and consent.
- Do not try to copy, reverse-engineer, or resell OSCAR's software.
SMS Terms
OSCAR at Home sends OSCAR Alerts by text message under these terms.
- Who gets them: only family members or friends a resident has named, who join on their own phone and confirm their number with a one-time code.
- What they are: safety and wellbeing alerts about that resident, such as a request to check on them. They never contain health readings or anything the resident said.
- How often: message frequency varies and is usually rare. Message and data rates may apply.
- Stop or get help: reply STOP to any OSCAR message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. You can also contact us below.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your phone number is never shared or sold for marketing — see our Privacy Policy.
Ownership
OSCAR, its software, design, name, and logo belong to OSCAR at Home, LLC and are protected by copyright. Patent pending. Your health data belongs to you.
Limits
We work hard to make OSCAR reliable, but no technology is perfect. OSCAR is provided as is, and to the extent the law allows, OSCAR at Home, LLC is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of OSCAR's displays, for interruptions, or for the performance of third-party devices and services.
